To ensure that RootedCare+ responds appropriately and ethically to messages indicating a crisis, including threats of self-harm, harm to others, elder abuse, or urgent emotional distress, while staying within the scope of a non-clinical, AI-powered support platform.
Definitions
Crisis Message: Any message indicating immediate risk of harm to self or others, including suicidal ideation, abuse, neglect, or severe emotional distress.
Mandated Reporting: Legal obligation to report certain disclosures (e.g., child or elder abuse) to authorities, depending on jurisdiction.Triage Escalation: A protocol to flag, log, and route certain interactions to human oversight or external partners.General Philosophy
RootedCare+ is not a clinical tool, but it must responsibly triage crises. Our goal is to:

We build for relief, not retention. Our tools are designed to reduce stress, not create dependency or friction.Accessibility first. No app download, no login barriers. Just immediate, judgment-free support.Inclusive by design. RootedCare+ will always respect and reflect the diversity of caregiving communities, including across age, gender, race, culture, disability, and neurodiversity.2. Privacy and Consent
